This section of the website has been created to answer some frequently asked questions and share testimonials of those who have visited the region and places featured on this website.
Can I book an ecotour to Central Siberia on-line?
Unfortunately not. So far, we only provide contact details of protected areas and some tour operators organizing ecotours in the region. However, we can provide travel advice and help (via e-mail) for those interested in a customized tour (e.g. scientific expedition) to any of the featured protected areas.
Can I share my experience (stories) from my travels to Central Siberia?
Yes, we welcome your texts and photos which can be posted in the special testimonials section.
What is the most appropriate time to visit Siberia?
July and August are the warmest months and the main holiday season in Central Siberia. If you want to avoid the crowds, try June or September-early-October. In early autumn the leaves are turning colourful and you can pick many various edible mushrooms and berries.
Is the travel in the region safe?
Safety is a primordial concern of many travellers into wilderness. Siberia by large is a safe place for travel. Use the same caution and common sense as any responsible tourist would use when traveling anywhere in the world. We strongly recommend reading Visitors Safety section on our website.
Can I travel with children?
The answer depends on the selected itinerary and the character of your planned activities. In the main, Nature Park Ergaki and National Park Shushensky Bor are great places for family holidays in the open.
Where can I get more information about Siberia and Russia?
There are a great number of books and websites with general information about Russia and Siberia, which can be easily found by Google or any other search engine in Internet.
Is any printed material accompanying the website?
Dersu Uzala, one of the project partners, has issued a series of little booklets about their tours to the region for the seasons 2008 and 2009. Please send an e-mail todersu@ecotours.ru, if interested to obtain a copy.
